Abstract

The temporal shape of both the discharge current and the photocurrent from a pulsed hollow cathode discharge is reported for aluminum, molybdenum, and titanium cathodes. Features which are characteristic of the discharge are discussed in terms of the physical processes involved. A circuit model of the discharge is presented and used to explain the discharge behavior. The effect of supply overvoltage and cathode material on pulse shape is reported and discussed
