Abstract

Motor and sensory abnormalities are features of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Recently, we proposed that core symptoms of ASD may result from reduced attenuation of self-generated sensory information. Namely, corollary discharge (CD) signals allowing inhibition of neural responses to self-generated actions may be disturbed in ASD. Despite evidence for temporal processing deficits in ASD, the effects of temporal offset between action and perception are unknown.
