Abstract

A simple yet efficient solvothermal methodology was elegantly designed to fabricate hollow Bi2MoO6 microspheres (HBMMs) without any templates. The resultant HBMMs exhibited excellent visible photocatalytic degradation efficiency and stability of methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation, which should originate from the synergetic effect of remarkable visible light absorption, large surface area and efficient separation of the electron–hole pairs, benefiting from the attractive hollow microspherical architecture.
