Abstract

Large-scale single-crystalline Co-Ni alloy nanowires with different composition ratios of Co to Ni were successfully synthesized by using DC electrodeposition within the anodic alumina oxide (AAO) templates. The diameter and length of Co-Ni alloy nanowires were approximately 50 nm and 85 μm, respectively, corresponding to the pore sizes and thickness of AAO templates. The morphologies, microstructures, compositions, and crystallographic orientations of the as-synthesized Co-Ni alloy nanowires were systematically investigated by SEM, TEM, SAED, and EDS analysis. All the alloy nanowires have a HCP structure and were found to be very sensitive to the externally applied magnetic field.
