Abstract

Nickel oxide nanomaterials are a highly researched class of magnetic nanomaterials showing tremendous applications in catalysis, sensing, batteries, solar cells and magnetic devices. This work shows the green synthesis of nickel oxide nanoparticles using vermicelli as template and black tea as reducing agent. The obtained product was analysed by XRD, UV and SEM measurements. The sample showed good photocatalytic behaviour when tested under solar cell illumination in the degradation of Methylene Blue dye. Further the nanosheet morphology of the material has potential to be used in energy generation and storage applications.
