Abstract
This paper is a discussion of Kalliokoski9s paper from Economic Geology v. 56, no. 8. The great discrepancy between high temperature of sulfide crystallization and low thermal metamorphic rank of wall rock at many of the massive sulfide deposits of the Canadian Precambrian argues against a hydrothermal origin. Analogy is drawn between the above conditions and the similar ones accompanying the emplacement of certain dry silicate magmas.
