Abstract

The FD code developed, explained in Part I ( Int. J. Mech. Sci. 33, 775–791 (1991) [1]), is used to investigate the geometry, temperature-dependent material property and general material property effects on wall temperature dynamics. The study covers a wide range of material properties and implements actual engine gas-side boundary conditions obtained from the insulated version of the engine cycle simulation package “I-SPICE”.
