Abstract

Temperature sensitivity of frequency of a monolithic RC oscillator can be separated into effects due to the passive frequency determining elements, the amplifier gain level, and the amplifier nonlinearity. Studies and experimental results of typical integrated oscillators indicate that accurate evaluation of performance can be obtained and lead to a method to achieve temperature compensation. A complete design as well as experimental results are given for a temperature compensation of an oscillator in which the passive element contribution to temperature sensitivity is dominant.
