Abstract

Thermal analysis of human expoure to base station antennas radiation is presented in this work. The formulation is based on a simplified cylindrical representation of the human body. Knowing the internal electric field and related total absorbed power in the human body, a resulting thermal response of the body due to the exposure to high frequency (HF) radiation can be determined. The temperature rise in the body exposed to base stations antenna radiation is determined by solving the bio-heat transfer equation via both the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DR-BEM) and finite element method (FEM). The temperature rise in the body is found to be rather negligible.
