Abstract

ABSTRACT Among various SMPs, polyurethane-based temperature-responsive shape memory polymer has received great interest to the material scientists due to their excellent shape memory effect and wide range of transition temperature for shape recovery effect. However, the research in shape memory polyurethane (SMPU) is scattered, and there is huge scope for this group of smart materials in potential applications, as the transition temperature of shape memory effect could be tailor by properly selecting raw materials available for polyurethane synthesis. This article has been emphasized the comprehensive review and overview of the temperature-responsive shape memory polyurethane and their prospective applications.
