Abstract

The temperature field of a premixed methane/air symmetric laminar flame jet, under oxygen enriched conditions, is visualized by studying the interferogram of the flame, using Mach-Zehnder Interferometry. The flame is chosen to be both lean. For the lean flame, equivalence ratio was held constant at 0.5, and oxygen enrichment is adjusted to 0.5 and 0.6. And for rich combustion, equivalence ratio is chosen to be 1.2 while oxygen enrichment was 0.7 and 0.8. The Reynolds number is tried to keep unchanged at 500. In the present study a non-contact method is successfully developed to measure the temperature field of a premixed methane/air OEC radially symmetric laminar flame jet. The effect of oxygen enrichment on temperature field is also investigated and depicted.
