Abstract

A system for performing gas-phase rapid scanning Fourier transform infrared time-resolved Spectrometry (FT-IR/TRS) has been evaluated. This technique can be applied to the study of the lifetimes and reactivity of transient species and can provide detailed information regarding reaction rate constants. Temperature-jump experiments have been initiated and preliminary results are presented.
