Abstract

The current study informs the average residual properties of self-compacting based hybrid fiber reinforced concrete mixed with low volume of fly ash and colloidal nano silica exposure to temperature up to 600 °C in a muffle furnace for a retention period of 1 h. Apart from a normal control mix, sixteen mixes with four levels of four additives such as fly ash, colloidal nano silica, crimped steel fibers and polypropylene fibers are considered. The additives include fly ash (5%–20% by mass of binder), colloidal nano silica (0.10%–0.40% by mass of binder), crimped steel fibers (0.50%–1.25% by volume of concrete) and polypropylene fibers (0.042%–0.167% by volume of concrete) to ensure fresh self compacting properties of all mixes. The mechanical properties include average residual compressive strength, tensile strength, weight loss, ultra-sonic pulse velocity. An expression is proposed to establish the relationships between residual strengths, additives added and temperature.
