Abstract

capacitor bushing is an important component of oil-immersed transformer. In this paper, the temperature rise of capacitor bushing with partial discharge defect is calculated with finite element method. The joule heat losses in different load conditions are analyzed using a 3D eddy current field model of a 126kV/630A capacitor bushing. The partial discharge energy is also calculated. A two-dimensional finite element thermal model was used to calculate the temperature rise of the bushing, taking into account Joule heat and partial discharge losses. The results of this analysis are of referential value for the safe operation of capacitor bushings.
