Abstract
Abstract A noniterative method is presented for the computation of temperature distribution both at the tool-chip and tool-work interface in metal cutting. Temperatures at the tool-work interface increase appreciably with the increase in flank wear. This phenomenon contrasts to the relatively minor influence on tool-chip interface temperature as crater wear develops. Results include a three-dimensional temperature distribution at the tool top surface.
