Abstract

The physical properties of Sr doped Pr2NiMnO6 have been discussed. The Samples of Pr2-xSrxNiMnO6 (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4) have been synthesized via Solid State Reaction. The X-Ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy characterizations were applied to examine the structure and surface morphology. Observed XRD patterns reveal the structure to be monoclinic with P21/n space group. Increase in the Sr doping resulted in the reduction in the particle size and crystallite size. Raman peak corresponding to the wave number 515 cm−1 represents the asymmetric mode and the other one at 655 cm−1 represents symmetric mode of the NiO6/MnO6 octahedra. The frequency and temperature dependent dielectric studies on samples of Pr2-xSrxNiMnO6 (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4) suggest the decrease in dielectric constant with the increase in Sr doping. The appearance of relaxation peak has been also observed in the temperature dependent dielectric loss plots. Furthermore, the ac conductivity reduction has been seen with the increase in Sr doping.
