Abstract

The temperature dependence of the 35Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency has been studied in barium, calcium and strontium chlorates. The results have been analysed on the basis of existing theories. Brown's theory is slightly modified in an attempt to take into account the non-linear variation of the lattice frequency with temperature. Lattice frequencies at various temperatures have been calculated and compared with those obtained from Brown's procedure.
