Abstract

Experimental results of the measurements of thermodynamic, electrical and magnetic properties and of x-ray and neutron scattering experiments on liquid eutectic GeTe alloys are briefly reviewed. From the diffraction experiments total and partial coordination numbers and pair distances have been determinded. The temperature dependent changes are explained by the destruction of locally ordered regions having the short-range order of α-GeTe and pure Te, respectively.
