Abstract

We have studied the temperature dependence of the optical band gap of glasses with CdSSe nanocrystals. The experimental data obtained from the absorption measurement was analyzed using published analytical formulae for samples with different relative molar fraction of S/Se. Molar-fraction dependence of values of parameters entering the formulae for temperature dependence of the band gap was compared with the scaling of phonon modes as studied by Raman spectroscopy. Electron–phonon interaction was identified as a major contribution to the temperature dependence of the gap.
