Abstract

The temperature dependence of the aging effect of permittivity in the paraelectric phase of 95.5%Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3–4.5%PbTiO3 (PZN–4.5%PT) and BaTiO3 (BT) single crystals has been investigated. The time dependence of the Re of permittivity at constant temperatures has been found in the paraelectric phase not only in the relaxor ferroelectric PZN–4.5%PT, but also in the typical oxide ferroelectric BT. Such time dependence of permittivity can be empirically analyzed using the Kohlausch–Williams–Watts relaxation function. We discuss the relationship between the aging effect and the relaxation process of the collective motion of polar nanoregions.
