Abstract
The temperature dependence of RKKY coupling is shown to decrease much slower than the conventional zero-temperature RKKY coupling for a certain range of the distance between two magnetic ions. The magnitude of the coupling, but not the sign, can change significantly as the temperature arises. We discuss implication of such temperature dependence on laser-induced magnetization dynamics and predict a temperature dependence of the interlayer coupling in magnetic multilayers.
