Abstract

Spectral dependences of the absorption coefficient in p-PbSe doped with thallium and superstoichiometric plumbum impurity are investigated within the temperature interval 96–600 K. Additional absorption bands, which are associated with the presence of thallium and chalcogen vacancies are revealed and identified. The energies of optical ionization of thallium and chalcogen vacancy are estimated. These are shown to increase with the temperature, while the energy of thermal ionization of thallium, according to the data on the transport phenomena studies, is decreased with increasing temperature. Probable reasons for different signs at the temperature-dependent rate of variation in the energy of optical and thermal ionization of thallium in plumbum chalcogenides are discussed.
