Abstract
Abstract Photoconduction in cadmium phosphate glass samples (50mol.% CdO-50 mol.% P2O5) has been measured in the spectral energy range 1.5−0.2 eV at different temperatures. Extrapolation of the linear region of the normalized photoeurrent versus photon energy curve gives 4.90 eV as the photoconductive band gap at room temperature in this material. The activation energies for the dark and photocurrcnts indicate that the conduction processes are electronic in nature.
