Abstract

The temperature dependence of magnetization and electrical resistivity of ferromagnetic Pd is investigated using NiO/Pd multilayers. The temperature dependence of the magnetization M ( T ) shows there is a fairly large region of T 2 dependence below the Curie temperature T C and M ( T )∝( T C 4/3 - T 4/3 ) 1/2 near T C . The resistivity is proportional to T 5/3 over a wide temperature range after T 2 dependence. These temperature dependences are well explained by spin fluctuation theory and it is experimentally supported that Pd in NiO/Pd multilayers is a weak itinerant ferromagnet.
