Abstract

(1−x)Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3–xPbTiO3 (BMT–PT) piezoelectric ceramics with a composition around the morphotropic phase boundary, exhibited a high Curie temperature (Tc) of 430°C and good piezoelectric properties, d33∼220 pC/N and kp∼40%. The detailed temperature‐dependent piezoelectric properties of BMT–PT ceramics, including piezoelectric coefficients d33, d31, and d15, as well as electromechanical coupling factors k33, k31, k15, kP, and kt, were investigated systematically by the resonance method. It was found that the piezoelectric properties of BMT–0.38PT ceramics were stable in the temperature range of 20°–330°C, which showed an improved temperature usage range compared with PZT5 ceramics. Good temperature stability, together with high piezoelectric properties and high Curie temperature make BMT–PT ceramics promising candidates for high‐temperature transducers.
