Abstract

The temperature dependence of bandwidths in cross-luminescence spectra of alkali-halide crystals (CsBr, CsCl, CsF, RbF) is analysed on the basis of the model of local optical centre in the vibrating lattice environment. The temperature behaviour of some emission bands can be reasonably well described by the model, the frequency of phonons responsible for the temperature-dependent broadening being close to characteristic frequencies of the host lattice vibrations.
