Abstract

In order to solve the problem of DC electric field distortion of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) bushing under the huge temperature range of 77 K-300 K, the glass fiber-reinforced epoxy resin (GFRP) insulation with reduced temperature coefficient of conductivity is used to improve the DC electric field distribution. For the DC 160 kV/1 kA SFCL bushing, the electric field distribution of condenser core has been figured out to analyze the effectiveness of reduced temperature coefficient of conductivity. The results show that, compared to traditional insulation, the modified GFRP material can significantly reduce the electric field distortion.
