Abstract

For discrete velocity models (DVMs), we present a criterion which predicts the nonmonotonic behaviour of the pressure in the half-space problem of evaporation and condensation, and we extend a criterion for the internal energy previously given for the problem with two interfaces. We study the profiles of these quantities and their inversion.
