Abstract

The nucleon mean free path is obtained based on the relativistic $\ensuremath{\sigma}$-$\ensuremath{\omega}$ model, the thermofield dynamics and the relativistic Dirac-Brueckner-Hartree-Fock results which includes the important medium effects at finite temperature in nuclear matter. The temperature and density dependence of the nucleon self-energy in nuclear matter is derived from the effective Lagrangian taking diagrams up to fourth order into account. The calculated results of the nucleon mean free path at zero temperature are in good agreement with the experimental data in normal nuclear matter.
