Abstract

For the description of heat and mass transfer in flames and flame reactors with coaxial jets of unmixed gaseous reactants [1–3] considerable interest attaches to a calculation of the temperature and concentration distributions in the reaction region. The present paper considers some calculations of this kind for parallel flows corresponding to different conditions at the entrance to the mixing region. A simplified description of the diffusion regime of reaction between jets of components not previously mixed [4] is used to obtain expressions for the concentration and temperature distributions in the reaction region of the parallel flows. Numerical examples are given. It is shown that the distribution of the heat flux on the outer wall of the reactor is independent of a change in the conditions of injection of the reactants on the periphery.
