Abstract

The universe of Engineering educational needs promoting interesting classes that generate meanings for their students. Theories of Cognitive Psychology, such as Vygotsky and Ausubel, advocate the application of methods that enhance the social and cultural baggage seized, to enrich the cognitive structure of learners. The collaborative learning by generating subjects proved to be able to provide the necessary context for the production of significant knowledge. The experiment was carried out by means of a video that explores the physical phenomenon of resonance occurred with the Tacoma Bridge. After a week of online discussions among students, mediated by the teacher, over 90% were able to scientifically explain the phenomenon through theories of physics and making up the training of the engineer. Moreover, expanded their knowledge about this scientific content to discover resonances can occur with mechanical,electromagnetic and quantum waves. Moreover, the issue sparked by research, discussions on related theories of interest in Engineering as the Kármán Vortex, thus,widening the scientific culture of the subjects. By teaching side, there was improvement of its activity with the opportunity to assess students both group and individual way, not common method in the context of the exact sciences.
