Abstract

1. The telomerization of propylene by bromoform leads to the formation of telomer homologs with the general formula CHBr2(CH2CHCH3)nBr. Telomers with n=1 and 2 were isolated. The first individual chain transfer constant (C1) in this telomerization is about 150. 2. In addition of bromoform to propylene proceeds largely at theα-carbon atom (>90%) and to a slight extent at theβ-carbon atom of the double bond. This leads to the formation of adducts CHBr2CH2CHBrCH3 and CHBr2CH(CH3)CH2Br.
