Abstract

1. In the telomerization of butadiene with carbon tetrabromide and dibromodichloromethane in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile only 1,4-addition takes place at the stage of adduct formation; the second molecule of butadiene is attached with the formation of a telomer in the 1,4-position as well as in the 1,2-position. 2. The reaction of butadiene with CBr4. in the presence of Fe(CO)5 + DMFA proceeds basically according to the scheme of “stepwise” telomerization and leads to a telomer with the structure CBr2 (CH2CH=CHCH2Br)2.
