Abstract
The French Archaeological Mission in Iraq has started work in 1976, on the site ofTell el 'Oueili, near Larsa. The latest levels are to be dated of the end of the Obeid period. We hope to be able to present, in the future, a reference study for an agricultural seulement of the Obeid 4 period in Southern Mesopotamia. According to the first results, we have got now some light on the architectural patterns and on the economy of a village, the sudden desertion of which must be elucidated.
