Telemedicine Monitoring with Artificial Intelligence Elements

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the remote monitoring health statement. The problems and ways of their solution are presented. A great attention is paid to psychological and managerial problems. Their important role here is displayed. The main aims of the monitoring are to improve medical care and simultaneously to unload the attending physician from routine work. Under the pandemic conditions, reduction of number of the face-to-face visits is also important. To reach the above targets developed telemedicine system (platform) is proposed. It includes Artificial Intelligence (AI) elements. In particular, there is a subsystem of intelligent agents (IA), intended for improvement of the efficiency and convenience of remote interaction between the patient and the doctor. Experimental application of the proposed platform conformably to the cancer patients took place in various Russian medical institutions. The results described in this article corroborate high effectiveness of the proposed approach. Ways of the perspective development of the proposed system are presented. They are further development of the IA subsystem, wide application of the IoT and analysis of the collected and depersonalized medical data to reveal general regularities.
