Abstract

Opioid treatment program (OTP) patients who received hepatitis C virus (HCV) care on‐site via telemedicine showed substantially greater virological response than patients who were referred to an off‐site specialist for HCV care, according to results of a study conducted at 12 New York‐based OTPs. The study's lead author told ADAW that the noteworthy results for HCV care via telehealth could suggest the value of providing care virtually for other chronic illnesses that can affect patients with opioid use disorder (OUD).
