A FIRST view of the magnificent Elburz Range, from whatever direction one approaches it, is inspiring. Any journey made parallel to it by motor or on muleback discloses hourly a fascinating array of diverse topographic forms. A geological excursion into the range at any point whatever throws light upon important scientific problems.
