Abstract

ABSTRACT. The prevalence of tedium was assessed in 1136 caregivers at institutions for elderly patients in the health care district of Umeå, northern Sweden. The proportion of personnel at risk of developing tedium was higher in long‐term care than in general care and also higher among physicians and registered nurses than among enrolled nurses and nurses' aides. There was a lower proportion of respondents with positive attitudes towards demented patients in the group of respondents with experiences of tedium.
