Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of the corporate sustainability in terms of supply chain management activities on financial performance of the business organizations. In this context for the year 2013 Corporate Social Responsibility or Sustainability Reports of the 50 leading firms in the Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) Sustainability Index were investigated. Thus, the effects of sustainable supply chain activities of firms on financial performance of year 2014 were analyzed. According to the findings obtained from this study, there were statistically significant relationships between economical supply chain management efforts and financial performance by return on assets and return on equity. On the other hand environmental and social supply chain management activities were not seen significantly associated with financial performance. This paper has important contributes to the sustainable supply chain literature by determining the effects of environment, social and economic supply chain dimensions on financial performance and examining the relationship between some internal sustainability implications and business performance.
