Tecniche MIPO nella chirurgia traumatologica del bacino

Abstract

In this paper we analyzed the main Mini Invasive Percutaneous Osteosynthesis (MIPO) techniques for pelvic ring lesions. Sparing of soft tissues, shorter surgery times and bleeding reduction are the main advantages of MIPO approaches, whereas success of the procedure is often excessively related to the feasibility of reduction. Although less invasive, these techniques are not exempt from complications. Therefore, we suggest MIPO employment only if performed by trained surgeons.
