Abstract

Education and training opportunities for child and adolescent psychiatrists to gain experience treating individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disability (ID) remain limited in many practice environments. This Clinical Perspectives session will highlight efforts by the Autism and Intellectual Disability Committee (AIDC) to expand these opportunities through the use of virtual technologies. Presenters will discuss how the use of teleconferencing and telemedicine virtual technology enabled the members to pivot quickly during the pandemic to maintain educational efforts and clinical care experiences.
