Abstract

For high technology companies, the successful acquisition and management of technology to enable the development and manufacture of innovative products is a key factor in their competitiveness. Technology roadmapping is a strategic decision-making technique which is applied to science, technology and product strategic planning. Technology roadmapping process can accelerate new product development more efficient. This paper firstly describes the definition of technology roadmapping, technology roadmapping process, its implications to policy, and its help for communication system. Secondly, this paper illustrates six different stages of TRM implementation and the inputs and outputs of each stage. Finally, the paper discusses on the relation of technology roadmap tool and knowledge management.
