Abstract

Abstract Technology is becoming a bigger part of the educational process for students, as well as a means of providing innovative methods for delivering learning resources and information on community and junior college (CJC) campuses. Many new technology-mediated programs require extensive collaboration between various campus sectors; librarians have played and continue to play an important role in these partnerships as navigators, teachers, technicians, and team leaders. Historically, CJC library/learning resources centers (LLRC) have spearheaded efforts to establish technology-based learning initiatives and resources on CJC campuses, often employing time-honored and traditional services and tools to do so. This experience, illustrated by services offered through the Palomar College Library/Media Center, serves as a model for campus-wide technology-based initiatives and underscores the essential-yet-evolving role of the LLRC in the high-tech environment.
