Abstract

In this paper, an interference suppression scheme for pulse Doppler (PD) radars with the presence of communication interference is presented based on the multivariate empirical mode decomposition (MEMD) method. Pulses with the different spectrum characteristics are firstly permuted to compose a multivariate signal, and then a modified MEMD method is applied to obtain the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Finally, the communication interferences are cancelled in the interfered IMFs by reconstruction and subtraction. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and practicability, and the proposed scheme is also verified having superior performance over the existing algorithms.
