Abstract

This paper will address the use of technology in physical education teaching and teacher education. Both computer and other electronic devices are considered. Current uses and some possibilities are discussed, as are some problems that have or may occur with the increased use of technology in physical education. Current uses include using computers for word processing and data management, assessment and teaching, computer and video-assisted instruction, and telecommunications. Four potential problems are identified: (a) have versus have nots; (b) physical activity versus technology; (c) is this the best way to teach?; and (d) the teacher educator.
