Technology Adoption In Utilization Of Fish Resource Based On Local Wisdom In Aceh Jaya District, Indonesia

Abstract

This research has been conducted in Aceh Jaya District during the period of September 2012 to February 2013. The objectives are to analyze the process of technology adoption in utilization of fish resources based on local wisdom and to analyze internal and external characteristics that influence in Aceh Jaya District. The method used was the literature study and survey method with questionnaires. Data, and information colected was analyzed by using logistic regression, including Chi-Square analysis, contingencies coefficient (C), and logit analysis. Results revealed that the internal characteristics of the fishing experience, look for information technology activities, perceptions of fishermen towards the external characteristics of the technology and support groups of fishermen have a considerable role to increase the rate of adoption of technology in the utilization of fish resources based on local wisdom in Aceh Jaya District.
