Abstract

With profound technological transformations, radio has once again shown its ability to reinvent and survive the emergence of new means of communication. This fact first occurred in the 1950s with the appearance and popularization of television in Brazil and, more recently, with the expansion of the web. The development of digital media allowed radio to modify its form of transmission, reception and interaction with the listener, changing what was previously known about the medium. The article deals with the technological transformations of radio, emphasizing the types of interaction that have been consolidated as a strategy to attract and maintain the audience. This is an exploratory investigation, developed with the support of bibliographical research carried out based on the Web of Science to understand relevant issues and themes. The results of the investigation show that radio has consolidated itself since the expansion of the web by taking on new forms of broadcasting, reception and interaction with the listener.
