Abstract

Background One of the important factors in the pipeline transport development is the efficient use of fixed assets. Along with the development of pipeline construction technologies, scientifically based technologies for their operation and overhaul ensure the operability and preservation of pipelines in a normative operational state. Aims and Objectives To obtain analytical dependences of technological parameters of trunk pipelines linear part overhaul on longitudinal compressive forces acting in the pipeline and to estimate the impact of these forces on the repair works safety. Methods Theoretical research of pipeline stress-strain state in the overhaul process with its lifting by pipe-layers under the action of longitudinal compressive force in the pipe wall. Results Analytical dependences of main pipelines overhaul technological parameters on longitudinal compressive forces in the pipe wall are obtained. It is concluded that the presence of longitudinal compressive force in the pipeline from the impact of positive temperature difference leads to an increase in the mechanical stress level. In order to ensure safety of performed repair works it is necessary to determine overhaul technological parameters taking into account longitudinal forces.
