Abstract
The technological innovation capability of the western region is the key factor for the coordinated development of China's overall economy. Based on the panel data of 12 provinces in Western China from 2012 to 2018, this paper establishes the evaluation index system of technological innovation ability in Western China, and uses factor analysis to get the score and ranking of technological innovation ability in 12 provinces in Western China in the past six years, and divides the technological innovation ability in Western China into positive development type and conservative backward type. This paper analyses the results of the research, summarizes the key factors that restrict the upgrading of technological innovation ability in the western provinces, and puts forward the paths and Countermeasures for the upgrading of technological innovation ability in the western regions.
