Abstract

The study aims to develop a comprehensive vision that enables Iraqi educational institutions to harness the potential of technological applications effectively. It also aims to draw a roadmap for academic institutions to benefit from technology to enhance the educational process, improve efficiency, and achieve better educational outcomes. This is done by identifying the technological impacts in the field of education from the perspective of Arab research and studies on academic institutions, and then conducting a comparison between the expectations of Iraqi university professors about the expected impacts of technological applications in their thematic areas with those that were the focus of Arab studies and research. The study revealed that there is a convergence in the thematic interest of Arab researchers in the four axes, with a relative preference for the axis of academic institutions compared to the other axes. The study also found that there is a difference in the degree of importance of the thematic axes that are directly related to technological applications from the perspective of the Arab study and the perspective of the sample individuals. The study provided a set of recommendations, the most important of which was to emphasize the importance of conducting field studies and research to assess the impact of technological applications on the educational process in Iraqi academic institutions, from the perspective of the academic institutions, teaching staff, and students.
